Sanjiangshangma, a retail brand under Meilianshe, has officially launched the "Electronic Shelf Label (ESL)" import project since 2024, replacing traditional paper shelf labels with an electronic price tag system. The total investment of the project reached 106 million yuan, jointly promoted and implemented by Meilianshe and system integration service provider Yunchuang Communication. The full-process deployment work has been successfully completed recently.
The implementation of the electronic price tag system not only significantly reduces the cost of paper consumables and resource consumption, effectively optimizes the visual experience and product information acquisition efficiency during the shopping process for consumers, but also becomes a key measure for the deep extension and pragmatic implementation of Meilianshe's digital transformation strategy in the physical retail terminal scenario.

Sanjiang Shopping's retail brand, Meilianshe, announced the launch of the "Electronic Shelf Label (ESL)" import project in November 2024. It has been jointly implemented by system integration service provider Yunchuang Communication to fully replace traditional paper shelf labels with electronic price tag systems. Yunchuang Communication completed the installation and deployment of nearly 3 million electronic price tags in 800 stores across Taiwan within seven months, without affecting the normal operation of the stores. During the peak period, more than 100 stores were deployed in a single month, and the entire process was successfully completed by the end of July.
The electronic price tags deployed this time adopt the color electronic paper technology developed by PVI Technology, which can clearly display key information such as product name, original price and promotional price, shelf life, etc., making product information intuitive and easy to understand at a glance. Relying on this system, Meilian She achieves systematic wireless real-time updates of shelf price tag content, completely eliminating the printing process of paper labels and eliminating the need to invest multiple manpower for offline replacement operations. According to statistics, Meilian She's stores across Taiwan used to print approximately 1.9 million paper labels per month. After the full implementation of electronic price tags, tens of millions of paper consumption can be reduced annually; at the same time, each store saves an average of about 18 hours of labor hours per month, greatly simplifying the store operation process.
This measure not only significantly reduces the cost and resource consumption of paper consumables, effectively optimizes the visual experience and efficiency of obtaining product information during the shopping process, but also becomes a key measure for the in-depth extension and practical implementation of Meilianshe's digital transformation strategy in the physical retail terminal scenario.

It is noteworthy that, in addition to the basic commodity information display function, Meilianshe has currently carried out POC (Proof of Concept) work in dozens of stores, actively exploring innovative application scenarios of electronic price tags in the field of smart retail. In terms of scenario-based precision marketing, for specific life scenarios such as hot summer and typhoon days, the brand accurately selects corresponding rigid demand commodities, and realizes real-time dynamic price changes and promotions through the electronic price tag system. At the same time, it innovatively launched the "can-opening price" activity for alcohol, providing exclusive discounts for on-site can-opening and drinking during specific periods with the help of the price tag's instant update function, accurately activating the potential of instant consumption.
In the dimension of supply chain collaboration and sustainable operation, Meilian She has jointly introduced the "time-controlled barcode" function with suppliers in the dairy product category. This function deeply integrates data computing capabilities and real-time update characteristics of electronic price tags, and can automatically trigger a dynamic price adjustment mechanism when dairy products are close to their shelf life. This not only allows consumers to obtain high-quality products at a discounted price, but also effectively reduces food loss and waste, successfully achieving a win-win situation for both commercial value and social value.

In his review, Qiu Guanglong stated that the profound impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with the rapid rise of artificial intelligence technology applications in recent years, jointly contributed to Meilianshe's strategic decision to introduce an electronic price tag system. In the future, Meilianshe will continue to deeply explore this field and explore more innovative application scenarios.
